Shutters roll up vertically into the housing above opening; approximately 8"-10" above opening. Shutters can be manufactured to operate manually or motorized. Motorized control options include: remote control, sensors (wind, rain, and light), rocker switch, key switch, or other automated systems. Shutters provide protection and security for your home's weak points.

Accordion Hurricane Shutters are permanently installed for year round protection; therefore no additional storage is required. They fold back compactly and stack left and right of window or door opening. Accordion shutters are convenient, and easily close. They lock from the inside or outside, with either a key or thumb lock, for increased security protection. Accordion Shutters are considered one of the strongest shutters available. The two blade system is highly versatile and allows flexible use of components for both commercial and residential properties.

Specialty Shutter Systems also installs Hurricane Panel Systems. Lightweight panels are an inexpensive option to protect your home. Corrugated panels (galvanized, aluminum, or lexan) are an alternative to plywood. Panels install quickly and with ease to the rails / tracks, unlike bulky plywood. They also stack for easier storage when not protecting your home. Panels can be installed vertically or horizontally using various mounting tracks. When installed panels cover twelve inches in width. Mounting tracks are aluminum, mill finish, white or painted to match your home.

Roll-up Screens (Solar and Insect control)

Specialty Shutter Systems fabricates Roll-up screens. With a flip of a switch, screens can be lowered to turn your patio into a solar protected, insect free screen room. They can also be installed on existing windows to lower energy costs.
